A single night shore entry dive Gary, Fran, Nevar and David of 302 minutes. Maximum depth 6.0 m, 25 C water temperature, 5 m viz.
With a 1.2 m tidal flow we got in 3 hours before high tide. Magic was about to happen... Bursatella leachii a new record for this great river. Aplysia nigrocincta and Goniodoris joubini were also recorded and are new records for the river, magic does happen! Aglaja fulvipunctata, Phyllaplysia lafonti, Dendrodoris nigra and Madrella sanguinea were showing their commonality tonight. Hydatina physis were out feeding and stunning as usual. A couple of species were locating with the UV light and both were vivid and bright being Bulla vernicosa and Facelina sp. 3. This new light, thank you David, will be mandatory for night hunting. After 302 minutes we recorded 1 new species and 3 new records for the river (actually 4). That totals 482 river, 994 Sunshine Coast.
