21 species sighted at Bubble Wall and Toilet Block, Mooloolah River, La Balsa Park, Buddina, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. 21-02-2025.
A single solo shore entry dive with Gary of 189 minutes, 1.1 m, maximum depth 5.2 m, 28 C water temperature, up to 3 m viz.
With big winds and swell coming a dive was in order... Started the dive at the TB stones and actually made it past Bubble Wall to the moorings on the other side! Yikes! I surfaced and took a heading to Bubble Wall. Lots of silt and a red algae is covering the substrate. From under a rock Dendrodoris nigra was found right at the end in the shallows, which has not been seen for a while. Recording Diversidoris sp. 2 again was a big surprise, found under a rock. Gymnodoris alba with its distinct head with winglets was another surprise. A fat Gymnodoris sp. 47 proved to be no match, so another new species is born. Low vis but a great dive.
