Species List: 12-10-2018, Rotunda, La Balsa Park, Mooloolah River, Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast, Qld.

22 species sighted at Rotunda, La Balsa Park, Mooloolah River, Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast, Qld, 12-10-2018.

A single shore entry dive by Gary, Chris and Jason of 126 minutes. Maximum depth 5.5 m, 23 C water temperature and up to 4 m viz.

With the weather turning inclement we thought we would try the river and we were surprised to find the water clarity quite good. From the stair we drifted with current, which was not very fast, to the Pandanus tree before descending where there is a big wall. Right away 5 species were recorded in about a square metre. The smallest Bulbaeolidia alba was found at about 2-3 mm. A very large Marionia pustulosa was waiting for us to shoot. The highlights for me were finding the second Costasiella sp. 1 and two Retusa species. Goniodoridella species ruled the bottom today!

Species List: 09-10-2018, TJ's Boulders, Caloundra, Sunshine Coast, Qld

52 species sighted at TJ's Boulders, Caloundra, Sunshine Coast, Qld, 09-10-2018.

Julie, Terry, David and Gary on this excursion consisting of 1 x 70 minute and 1 x 70 minute dives in water depths up to 19.8 m, up to 10 m viz, 22 C water temp.

Taking advantage of the low wind days we headed out to Currimundi Reef to a deeper dive TJs and again the surge followed us. We did manage to find some interesting nudibranchs like Babakina indopacifica, Thorunna sp. 1 and Doto rosacea which are not too common. Interestingly Doriprismatica atromarginata was not the most common, Hypselodoris jacksoni was. Dermatobranchus ornatus were large and out in the open substrate. When we surfaced the wind had increased quite a bit and we steamed home with a following sea.
