Species List: NW Reef, Old Woman Island, Sunshine Coast, 25-11-2013

35 species sighted at NW Reef, Old Woman Island, Sunshine Coast.
Terry and David on this excursion consisting of 1 x 107 minute & 1 x 93 minute dives in water depth 9m to 13m with some surge. 5m viz, 22C water temp.

The Noumea romeri at 18mm is the largest we have sighted in our survey area. The gills were certainly a twitchin' on this guy. At 15mm the same could be said about the size of the Tambja limaciformis which is not a common find. The Codium algae was plentiful, supporting specimens of Elysia maoria one of which was, unusually, heavily covered in white furry pustules. A specimen of Elysia verrucosa was also found. It lacks the distinctive knobbly pustules on the rhinophores that the specimens in The Collection on this website exhibit.
