40 species found at Nudi Ledge, Currimundi, Sunshine Coast.
Terry, Julie and David on this excursion comprising 1 x 85 minute and 1 x 87 minute dives in water depths of 15m to 18m. 8m viz, 25C water temp and no surge.
In some quarters this might seem a slow start to the New Year - waiting until the 2nd day for an immersion however we timed it perfectly balancing celebration recovery with weather and crowd considerations. The species just seemed to be in abundance and interestingly many different ones compared to the dives here just 2 days previously that would only have been, at most, 30 metres away. A species of Doto was found feeding on hydroids. Its appearance gives us reason to believe it is a new species for our list. The lines on its dorsum seem distinctive. Its also appears to be a little damaged so at first opportunity the search will be on for better specimens.
