Species List: 28-05-2021, Upriver Rotunda, La Balsa Park, Mooloolah River, Mooloolaba, Qld.

16 species sighted at upriver Rotunda, La Balsa Park, Mooloolah River, Mooloolaba, Qld. 20-05-2021.

A single shore entry dive with Gary, Tracey and Harvey of 190 minutes. Maximum depth 5.2 m, 19/20 C water temperature, up to 2 m viz.

The big swells are coming so we decided to take a chance. It was unchanged and still lots of fluff in the water column. Plus the 1.5 m tidal flow seemed like a 1.8! On this dive I wanted to check out the Cratina pawarshindeorum population. Lots of egg masses! Also recorded two Cratena lineata and Flabellina lotos eggs on the Birthday sculpture at the base of Big Rock! Winter water is here, just need some clarity!

Species List: 20-05-2021, Fish Cage to Rotunda, La Balsa Park, Mooloolah River, Mooloolaba, Qld.

16 species sighted at Fish Cage to Rotunda, La Balsa Park, Mooloolah River, Mooloolaba, Qld. 20-05-2021.

A single shore entry dive with Gary and Harvey of 184 minutes. Maximum depth 5.2 m, 20/22 C water temperature, up to 3 m viz.

We decided to dive from Fish Cage to Rotunda, Harvey never did this one. What surprised me was the decline in Cratena pawarshindeorum. We did manage to record 6 animals and Harvey got to see them as well. Finding Costasiella kuroshimae was a great sight to behold since I haven't seen one in quite a while. Another species that is on the decline is Unidentia, only two animals were seen. On this dive Cratena lineata was head slug!
