Species List: 30-08-2017, North East Reef and Bornella Reef both at Old Woman Island, off Mudjimba, Sunshine Coast, Qld.

22 species sighted at North East Reef and Bornella Reef both at Old Woman Island, off Mudjimba, Sunshine Coast, Qld, 30-08-2017

Gary and David on this excursion consisting of a first dive at NE Reef, Old Woman Island of 87 minutes in water depths from 10 m to 13 m, 10 m viz, 21 C water temp with some surge and a second dive at Bornella Reef, Old Woman Island of 71 minutes in water depths from 10 m to 13 m, 8 m viz, 21 C water temp with some surge.

Fewer species were sighted than we would have expected. The minuscule Kaloplocamus acutus was an uncommon find. The large number of Thuridilla splendens seen on both dives was also unusual because although it is a common species they aren't found in double digits. This time it just pipped the ubiquitous Doriprismatica atromarginata.

Species List: 27-08-2017, Where's Dewley, Arkwright Shoals, off Yaroomba, Sunshine Coast, Qld.

35 species sighted at Where's Dewley, Arkwright Shoals, off Yaroomba, Sunshine Coast, Qld, 27-08-2017.

Julie, Terry, Gary and David on this excursion consisting of 1 x 85 minute and 1 x 80 minute dives in water depths from 10 m to 14 m. 10 m viz, 21 C water temp and some slight surge in the shallower parts.

With the great sea conditions we ran up the coast to the Arkwright Shoals to dive at Where’s Dewley. We love the varied and broken up terrain here that provides many different surfaces to search for our objects of desire. The visibility was somewhat less than the 20 m we enjoyed a fortnight ago when we were last here. Doriprismatica atromarginata came in with the highest specimen count but we also sighted the most Ardeadoris sp. 2 we have even seen in the one place.
