9 species sighted at Route 66, Mooloolah River, La Balsa Park, Buddina, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. 08-02-2022.
A single solo shore entry morning with Gary of 157 minutes. Maximum depth 5.4 m, 26 C water temperature, up to 1 m viz.
Midweek diving with plenty of parking, a 1.3 m tidal flow and lots of particles in the water column make for a challenging search. With big swells and wind the river is pretty dirty. I chose to search with the available light and it was very difficult to see small stuff. When the light was turned on the particles were all lite up! Again Cratena pawarshindeorum are in plenty as well as many egg masses. Most of this dive was spent searching for the Cratena pawarshindeorum. I hope they are around for a while!
