Julie, Terry, and David on this single shore entry dive, of 120 minutes. Maximum depth 5.9 m, 27 C water temperature and up to 3 m viz.
Although not quite the King Tide there seemed to be a late surge that caused us to postpone our normal entry time in relation to a high tide by approx 20 minutes. Except Terry, who forged ahead as we watched his white tank gradually disappear into the depths. Even then it was a hand over hand exercise from boulder to boulder to make any progress. The strong tidal current either drove all the sea slugs into the crevices or severely affected our efficiency at spotting them because our overall species count is one of our worst ever. When the flow abated, which normally gives us about an extra hour, we were forced from the water by almost zero visibility as the sediment stirred up by the upstream river-bed profiling came down upon us like a dark cloud.
