15 species sighted at Flinders Reef, Moreton Island, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. 20-11-2021.
A double boat entry dive with Gary, David, Sheryl and Gail of two 60 minute dives. Maximum depth 15.9 m, 21 and 23 C water temperature, up to 20 m viz.
The Team decided that our yearly sabbatical to Flinders Reef should be today. We dived the eastern side first then the western side recording some nice nudibranchs. A clump of green weed looked like it was chewed on so inspection was in order. Many egg masses were found in the weed and shortly after 5 Elysia animals were found. Shooting them in the weed with surge was a challenge. Another new species. There was an interesting Flabellina recorded today and it too is a new species.
